ESME began playing out fall 2005 in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.

Singer/writer Esme Montgomery grew up in NYC and played around New York and Chicago solo, and with Prog Rock and Indie Rock bands, before following her former rhythm section (of PA's The Insidious Rays) to the Lehigh Valley. In 2005 she was joined by rhythm section Pete Quinter on drums and Anthony Perrett on bass, who have been playing in bands together since they were little children. New to the band in 2006 is guitar player Brown Nick.

Esme's writing has been noticed by successful industry professionals including Publicist/Social Scientist Howard Bloom (Joan Jett, Run DMC) Cari Cole (Founder, Cari Cole Voice Studios), Pop Producer Mr. Wizard (Wyclef Jean, Melanie Smith), and Justin Goldberg (Indie911). In 2003 Esme signed with indie label INFIDEL Records, an upstart label owned by the founders of Water Music Recording Studios in Hoboken NJ (Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, Ween, Dave Matthews Band). Esme has shared the stage with such great musicians as guitarist Robbie Seahag Mangano (Zappa band Project/Object, Sound of Urchin), bassist Danton Boller (Jazz Mandolin Project) and bassist Dave Dreiwitz (Ween).
